Addressing Longford District Court, Sergeant Enda Daly said the injured party had filed a complaint alleging his facial injuries to be the result of an assault by Mr Hagan.
"From looking at the medical report and at photographs, it (the injury) was a haemorrhage to the face," Sgt Daly explained before adding, "He states that while in the Yacht Bar in Lanesboro, he was in the cubicle when another male used the toilets and lit a cigarette. He asked him to put it out."
"At that point the male left the toilets. There were some words exchanged and the injured party said he was headbutted and punched a number of times after this resulting in facial injuries. There was bruising, but no bones were broken."
Judge Mark O'Connell listed the matter for June 16.
